UPN Sustainable Campus Initiative

In 2022 we had an environmental plan that aids to accomplish our sustainability efforts. In 2023, the First Plan of Environmental Management “Sustainable Campus” was applied, resulting in more than 107 environmental initiatives, with the participation of 14,757 members of Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) and impacting 21,792 beneficiaries of the educational campaigns undertaken, among the most notable they are: Zero Footprint, and Good Practices for Saving Water and Energy.

Also, we led environmental volunteering in reforestation campaigns with 1,057 students and 113 hours. In addition, we organized the Sustainability Week at the national level and the International Responsibility Forum Social and Sustainability every year. Furthermore, we had 71 titles in indexed journals, 91 theses and 6 patents registered on environmental issues.

Our campuses have reduced taps by 100% and installed more than 99% eco-efficient lighting, an ecological campus implemented with solar energy and sprinkler irrigation. We have also recovered 26.34 tons of waste.
