Sustainability Champions

The Students’ Union has long supported students to play an active role in developing Education for Sustainable Development at the University. We know that students want a curriculum that equips them for the world they live in now and the one they hope to create for the future.

With support, coordination and guidance students have worked closely with academics in their schools to represent their peers, identify the changes needed in the curriculum and create opportunities for students to address global challenges through their learning and research. 

For 2021/22 we have supported this initiative through employing 11 members of student staff from November 2021 – June 2022 to work within their schools and give dedicated time and energy to curriculum development.

1. We are making sustainability a core competency of the University of Bristol education by mobilising our curriculum.
2. We are creating opportunities for students to address global challenges through their learning and research.
3. We must empower the student voice to push for change.
