UPV shows off its green

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is Spain’s leading technological university and aims to be a modern, innovative, and efficient institution noted for its commitment to social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Its website on sustainability cross-collects isolated, compared, and linked data to training, research, and management services actions organized polyphonically around the five spheres of the SDGs. The new strategic plan places the S for sustainability as its first goal, and the institution has dedicated itself to its most visible challenge: climate neutrality by 2030. Under these two references, the UPV strives daily to show off its green.

UPV promotes a sense of responsibility for both conservation and improvement of the environment, being aware of its exceptional role in transforming society. Therefore, the institution is committed to maintaining its EMAS and, consequently, to establishing demanding objectives. The first outcomes have created environmental awareness beyond the UPV community and achieved an impact in the region.

What it Means to Win

  1. We have understood sustainability as something inherent to the University's strategic plan.
  2. We have learned to evaluate and minimize environmental impacts beyond compliance with legal requirements.
