The University’s Grounds Team and Student Conservation Society engage through a programme of collaborative weekly sessions and projects, centred around activities that embrace and promote a joint passion for nature conservation, improving habitats and biodiversity and working sustainably on our campuses.
Students can come along and learn new practical skills and gain an insight into how the University’s Grounds Maintenance Teams work in a sustainably and environmental conscious manner. This provides students with transferable skills and gives them confidence that the University cares about our environment and campuses just as much as they do and share their commitment to making a difference.
The sessions are supported and promoted by the University’s Sustainability Team, who provide support to help us to connect all internal and external parties involved and align our work with the University’s sustainability and biodiversity targets and projects.
These weekly sessions are inclusive and are promoted to the wider student and staff network for participation.
