Beyond Education: King Faisal University’s institutional identity towards food security and environmental sustainability

King Faisal University (KFU) has developed an institutional identity to contribute to the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, which is also aligned with the UN SDGs. This institutional identity aims to achieve food security and environmental sustainability for the Kingdom and consequently the world. As a higher education institution, KFU seeks to be a leading university locally, regionally, and globally in creating a stimulating educational environment. It is productive in research and development and is a key partner in achieving the SDGs goals.

KFU institutional identity seeks to achieve those goals in many aspects, including nine areas: water, agriculture, environment, management, technology, health, transportation, logistics and manufacturing.  KFU has harnessed all its capabilities and sectors in achieving its institutional identity to become a strategic priority which has gained a wide range of achievements locally, regionally, and globally.
