King Faisal University (KFU) is keen to develop women, empower them, and enhance their role in the management and decision-making system. We consider women as a key pillar and an active partner in our community. Several initiatives were undertaken by KFU to develop and empower women. Among these initiatives, KFU established a special unit for women that contributes to the development of women's capabilities and expertise. The unit works to advance and sharpen women’s competences to achieving sustainable economic growth, social development and environmental sustainability, and a basic goal to achieve the KFU mission.
The empowerment of women at KFU has contributed to breaking their glass ceiling and provided brighter career progression opportunities. Therefore, women now have better access to top managerial position such as vice presidents, deans, and vice deans. This spreads the culture of gender equality within KFU and society at large. This contributed to good institutional performance at KFU, which has positive implications for the distinction and sustainability of the University.
