King Faisal University (KFU) is the first university in the Saudi Arabia that obtained the Environmental Permit Certificate for operation of the entire university campus. This permit delivered from the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Compliance is for a period of 3 years. The environmental permit covers all colleges, scientific, research and educational centers.
In addition to health and polyclinic center and service departments, this includes: Assessment and statement of the environmental impacts of each building; identify the operational operations of all desalination and sewage treatment plants; monitor all environmental impacts and work to address them in accordance with the unified environmental system; inventory of all medical, vital and hazardous waste; study and evaluate the environmental impact and make the necessary measurements, which includes air quality, noise and suspended materials and conducting biological and chemical analyses required for the water of wells feeding the university.
