At Cranfield University, I led transformative sustainability initiatives to advance our 2030 net-zero targets.
Engaging over 345 students, I implemented projects that significantly reduced our carbon footprint. I won an Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) and Centre for Postdoctoral Development in Cities, Infrastructure and Energy (C-DICE) grant to organise a two-day conference, "Nurturing Sustainable Campus Ecosystems," with 47 delegates from nine universities, aiming to foster collaboration among institutions with 171,000 students averagely. The event aimed to culminate in a pledge to recruit sustainability ambassadors for climate action.
Additionally, I designed energy training sessions, promoted behavioral change through poster campaigns, led community projects, including planting 415 trees, and conducting 68 door-to-door energy efficiency campaigns. I also advanced biodiversity efforts through a sustainability garden, hedgehog surveys, and a tiny forest with over 78 trees.
These initiatives highlight my commitment to creating a sustainable campus and empowering students as change agents.
