Embedding sustainability at the heart of the institution, the project advances usage of renewable energy through installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels to harness the sun’s energy for a greener electricity generation method. The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuantan Campus embraces sustainability through a comprehensive solar energy project, including solar panel installations in car parks and walkways.
By significantly reducing CO2 emissions, equivalent to the absorption of nearly 6 million trees over 21 years, the project aligns with the 2030 Climate Action agenda. It not only provides essential shaded areas for vehicles and pedestrians but also serves as a beacon of energy efficiency education and engagement within the IIUM Community.
This initiative represents a holistic approach to combating climate change while promoting responsible energy consumption, making a compelling case for its recognition and support.
