IMT Nord Europe, an engineering school in the Hauts-de-France region, has a campus located in the heart of the city of Douai.
The primary objective of this project is to eliminate the consumption of fossil fuels for heating the buildings. The chosen solution, in operation from the beginning of the 2021/2022 heating season, consists of heat pumps connected to a geothermal installation on groundwater, in order to heat efficiently and comfortably about 10,000 m² of teaching and office space.
As part of its DDRSE approach, reflected in its ambition to become a zero-carbon campus of the future, the school has transformed the campus' heating system by replacing its old oil-fired boiler room with heat pumps integrated with a geothermal installation.
This project will enable the school to significantly reduce its energy consumption in the short term. It is part of its carbon neutrality strategy, thanks to the reduction of its greenhouse gas emissions.
