Proud to benefit from the Lamothe Campus, which, with its unique farm, trains them in the "ecologically intensive" agriculture of tomorrow, students from PURPAN (les Purpanais) launched a project in 2020 to restore and set up agroecological infrastructures. In addition to the innovative practices carried out there, the students have affirmed the need to promote these semi-natural spaces that do not receive any fertiliser or pesticide inputs within the farm.
On a campus in agro-ecological transition, this project places students at the heart of a collective approach reconciling ecology and agronomy in order to develop their autonomy, their curiosity and their collaborative spirit while providing them with the necessary scientific, regulatory, and technical background and support.
Their goal? To combine their knowledge and strengths to make the Lamothe Campus a model of sustainable agriculture and agroecological transition! A successful challenge!
Judges felt that this was a unique approach to shifting existing agricultural practices to be sustainable, that was driven by students, with tangible long-term benefits and learnings.
