Edge Hill University

Finalist

Since 2019, Edge Hill University has remained steadfast in its commitment to transparently report on our sustainability endeavours. Over time, we have refined our reporting approach to engage and educate the public more effectively.

This evolution enabled a rigorous quality assurance process and involves internal scrutiny of content and data, culminating in review and approval by our Board of Governors prior to publication. To bolster our commitment to quality assurance, we have taken two key steps. Firstly since 2023 we enlisted the expertise of consultants to audit our sustainability reporting and secondly in 2025, we will disclose independently calculated CO2e emission data, further enhancing the credibility of our disclosures.

Our reporting is closely aligned with our Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Carbon Management Plan, ensuring a coherent narrative that underscores our achievements and future initiatives. This approach guarantees that all stakeholders are kept abreast of our progress and next steps. Continuously striving to maximise our impact, we make our reports readily accessible online and promote them through various channels: internal communications, social media, engagement events such as our Sustainability Festival and SustainNET meetings, to foster dialogue and collaboration with community groups working on sustainability.
