For more than a year now, I have been co-creating a course on – almost – all aspects of the climate crisis and sustainability with a diverse and growing team of students and staff members of King’s College London.
I first connected the team with a student group from my previous university – Humboldt Universität Berlin – which runs a course on sustainability. This was the start of one of the biggest and most impactful projects I have been part of: creating an online module and lecture series explaining the challenges and opportunities of sustainability available to all King’s students and staff members.
I am passionate about this project as I think that learning about climate change is the first step to taking action. Even though environmental education is key to having a well-educated population ready to face current and future challenges, it is currently lacking in curricula. Due to the importance of this and my passion, I have been working on this module in a voluntary capacity for over a year.
