Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a student-centred approach to education that focuses on defining desired learning outcomes and developing curriculum and assessment strategies that enable students to achieve these outcomes. The Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is designed to follow the OBE approach to ensure that students develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers. The EEE program at AIUB has defined program learning outcomes (PLOs) that describe the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students are expected to achieve by the end of the program. These PLOs include a range of technical competencies, as well as soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.
To achieve these PLOs, the EEE program at AIUB uses a variety of teaching and assessment strategies, including lectures, laboratory experiments, projects, and exams. The program is also designed to provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings through internships and industry collaborations. By following an OBE approach, the EEE program at AIUB aims to ensure that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the rapidly changing field of electrical and electronic engineering and become successful professionals.
