The winners of the 2021 International Green Gown Awards were announced on 7th July 2021 in an online bilingual ceremony hosted by Carina Mutshele, Youth & Education Officer from UNEP Kenya and Gloria Ordóñez Valenzuela from UNEP Environment Latin America and the Caribbean.
The International Green Gown Awards celebrate the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world and are endorsed by United Nations Environment and supported by The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), The Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) and International Association of Universities (IAU).
Established as the most prestigious recognition of sustainability best practice within the education sector globally, the International Green Gown Awards provide benchmarks for excellence and are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Los premios International Green Gown Awards celebran las excepcionales iniciativas de sostenibilidad emprendidas por universidades y colegios de todo el mundo y cuentan con el respaldo de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente y el apoyo de la Asociación de Universidades del Commonwealth (ACU), L'Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Iniciativa de Sostenibilidad de la Educación Superior (HESI) y Asociación Internacional de Universidades (IAU).
Establecidos como el reconocimiento más prestigioso de las mejores prácticas de sostenibilidad dentro del sector de la educación a nivel mundial, los premios International Green Gown proporcionan puntos de referencia para la excelencia y están alineados con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la ONU.
